A  pharmacist is a “scientist and health professional who, by virtue of the nature of the common graduation and registration requirements, is the only specialist in drugs and medicine whose initial education and training provide an understanding of the physical, chemical and biological properties of the material used in medicinal products; the formulation, preparation and storage of medicines, the use of medicines in disease state and prophylactic treatment, together with their potentially harmful effects, their misuse and abuse ”. 

A  graduate in pharmacy will have developed an understanding of a complex body of knowledge in the field of pharmacy, acquired commendable communication ability, analytical acumen, problem solving skills and IT-competency that can be applied in the various fields of employment, especially within the area of pharmaceutical care, management and services.
